Tada~!!!
.::~ Our sweet beauty ~::.

Elegant brown, with a splash of fresh blue.
Seemingly glowing as lights reflects away from its gloss surface.
A compilation of hard work, work of inspirations & creativity,
and a whole chunk of sacrifices.

Together, we produced this baby. haha

This is what I worked for in an expensive expense of my whole Form 4 studies.

Marching Course 2007

As I drag my heavy body, up the stairs of our school hall which seems endless, all I hear is just my own footsteps. Slight, soft breeze caress my sticky face, hot with perspiration. Hours ago, every team was in this whole marching away for the final battle. The air was tense, as each team strives for perfection. But now, it’s just me and my own footsteps, after everything died off.

It was a havoc. I barely spend time with my team and polishing their marching skills to their best. What to do lar…I was sou occupied with my Decoration role. We spent the whole morning yesterday putting up the backdrop in the AVA. No easy job. But it turned out to be a beauty.

Today was crazy as well. We were all in a huge turmoil. We were alll barely prepared for the closing ceremony when the principal arrives. Bad thing when your school principal is always too punctual for any events. Cut things short, my slide was bad. Short of time mah.. XD

One redemption : Ms. Connie told me how Mr. Lau adore our backdrop. He commented that the colour combination was great and blended very well with its contrast and everything. Sueweet!! He even demanded for a photo of it. -.-

I’ll post a photo of it up here when i get it. That’s all for now. I’m flat.

doh.

Tired. My poor fingers. They’re tired too. Stained with ink, flipping trough 260 pages. No more, no less. Again and again. Checking and counting, counting and checking. All i can hear all around – Fingers busily bouncing off the keyboards, clicking sounds of ‘mice’. And so that’s how it’s like, being under the roofs of a humble old building of Sarawak Press.

Yes, it was yet another visit to the printing company. Along with Pn. Loo right after my papers, skipping lunch, to The Place. -.-

Good news : nil

Bad news :
1. Spelling errors. [still a plenty]

2. No coloured dividers!!!!! [yes i know, its not the first time mentioning it, and mind you, i hoped and prayed and hoped till the very end. nope, santa didn't come by, he assured me that i was a good girl tho. xD]

3. Missing photos here and there. [means there is more work.]

4. Mistake in quotation. [2 of the coloured adverts weren't allocated in the quotations. Gotta eat up my colour page some more. great.]

5. Just found out Joshua and elz’s poem isn’t in. Pn Loo took it out. Sheeeeeez!!!! I can’t feel more guilty about it. Forgive me lah guys.. T.T

5. Cannot be finalised for the final draft anytime before Raya. And the graphic girl wont be back until next Friday. doh. ish. means, final draft = AFTER RAyA!!! [ as if things can't get any worse????]

6. Magazines are not to be distributed anytime before the LASTTTT week of school. G-r-r-reat.

and oh, couldn’t make it to meet up with val they all. I’m soooouuu sorry guys!!!! [and June, i know you'd forgive me eh? =p] nevermind, nevermind, I know y’all will understand, no? =) and thanks for the ticket, sorry it gotta go to the trash.

Anyway, here’s a lovely picture for you all, [untuk menebus dosa, haehae] :

Friendship needs no words…

No School Day

Skipped school today. *evil laugh* If you’d noticed, the last 2 posts are EOC [evidence of crime], which were posted illegally. shhhhhhhhh

So, what did i miss out in school today? Lots. Leave out the details, but this can’t be left out. Read on.

Agnes called:– *not in her exact words. translated from chinese.

agnes : wah, that pn loo ar, blasted me ar!!
she asked me about every other sections which aren’t under me and i don’t even know how to answer her. She demanded to see the profile section tomorrow, no matter what!!
shuyi : ….woa…
agnes : …. [i can almost see her firing at the other end of the line]
shuyi : .. okay…

VaL called:–

val : shuyi, *pause* *then, in a very serious tone* you were the most wanted person in school today.
shuyi : hmm…..
val : Pn. Loo went totally mad when she found out of your absence.
shuyi : so, what did she say?
val : She hunted william down and asked for u. When william told her you were absent, she gave him this look like she didn’t believe him.
shuyi : ….*picturing that oh-so-familiar look in my mind*

William messaged :–

william : Hey, why u din go to skul today? Dun tell me sick o, yesterday still ok leh…*
me : couldn’t wake up. Haha. Pn Loo must have exploded, did she?
william : yaloh, she asked me, stuff that i’m not in charge, i kena bombed oso. So many people kena bombed by her ah. *
me : Haha, dun worry, you’ll see me tomorrow. I can’t bare to see my darlings getting burn injuries. hahaha

* not in his exact words. I accidentally deleted his messages.

Geeez….I feel bad.

But then, WOA…. what can i say? Suddenly right.. I feel so important. *breaks into another evil laugh*

Okay, sorry. Sorry people, sorry. I assure you guys, y’all WILL see me tomorrow. XD
Oh dear, now i’m not exactly sure how am i to confront her tomorrow. inner voice : face the music shuyi. face the music. *sigh*

Back to School

Rain rain rain. I guess the sky is as gloomy as us. The school holidays for last year particularly, seemed to zoom by and before you know it, we’re back to school again.

As usual, there were many early birds who appear in school particularly early to grab seats. I, of course, wasn’t exceptional. Thank God, I am QUITE satisfied with where I seat now. The only thing is, Agnes lah! At the end, Anthony turned out to be sitting in between us. On the bright side, I’ll have to brush up my sign language skills XD.

Before the teacher comes in, the aisle and balcony were packed with students. All with the, ”eee….your class is so much better!” “wei…you go in my class ar…you’ll feel the tensed air” or the most commonly spoken one : “wei….I want to go to your class!!!”

You see, the thing is, this year, the school decided not to stream classes for form 4, God knows why. So, turns out that you’ll find your peer group all over the place.

I wonder why, was it coincidence or what? Our batch kena twice already. The year before last(under our last pengetua, Mr Bong), they had a major reshuffle when we were in form 2 at the middle of the year. Great. Got seperated with friends. THat was the toughest I recall. It was a MAJOR one. Then, we manage to pull through, got to know some new friends, and lasted from the last half of form 2 until the end of form 3. And then, this year (new pengetua came last year), VOILA! Shuffle again, no streaming classes for form4 policy. All rojak again.

Anyway, back to today. As always, we were all as quiet as mice. First day of school, what to do.. Our form teacher was kind enough to not rearrange the seats.

And then, subject teachers came in, talk talk talk, go out, came in again, talk talk talk, go out….until the the bell at 12:10.

Since I got half an hour more to 12:45, I went to get my result slip. Before I could get to the staff room, I encountered with a huge crowd with exciting chattering here and there. THe whole place was like SO CLUTTED! Ah, the form 1s first day. So as they were like us 4 years ago?

Manage to squeeze through the packed-like-sardin-crowd and to the staffroom. Mr. Andrew Wong not in..so waited and met Pn Nazrah:

“Shuyi! So macam mana? (as in, how was your results) “
“ah..BM ..B lah” [trying to sound sad]
“aiyo…*extended her hand, dotted her finger on my right cheek*..ya..memang banyak students kerana BM huh?”
and i was like..”ya lor…” and YOU DOTTED YOUR FINGER ON MY CHEEEEEK!!

*bler* kinda shock she did that. hehe…Anyway, I guess she was just being friendly and consoling, in a way. *raise one eyebrow* hehehe…But, she’s nice for sure.

Then met Pn. Sutinah, my BM teacher. And again:

” So Shuyi! macam mana? (as in, how was your results) “
“ah..BM ..B lah”
“aiyo…WHY ar..so many got B. Haih. Im not happy about it you know? I think the marking got problem lah…” [cross her hands, and look terribly dissapointed]
and I was like..”yalor yalor..got problem ..hehe” XD

After getting my result slip, squeezed through the packed-like-sardin crowd again, and head to the canteen to wait for Lisa’s car.

And THAT, was my first day of school, Year 2007. *grin*

BLah~

:: 30th February, 2006

Our school’s Red Crescent unit had the last Annual Gathering rehearsal.

I just got back from KL the night before and had to drag myself out of bed early in the morning for the rehearsal. As for me, t’was the first and last rehearsal. As for the MC part, it went on quite smoothly, at least I got the idea of how it’s gonna be like.

Bounced into my head section leader just before going home, “How’s your script? You ah *pointing at me*, last minute one ah..”, and before I could say anything, he shot a stare at me and walked away.

I’m not exactly sure what he meant by the ‘last minute one’, but it sure sounded something unpleasant and made me felt like my efforts for the past few weeks have just washed down the drain. Can’t blame him though, coz I really did went invisible for some time during the preparation part. Just if I had that chance, I would have wanted him so much to know that, I was the one who drafted a huge portion of the script. I grasped hold of every chance to get online while I was in KL, *not that it was easy to do so, having to share just one miserable laptop among my family members* for editing as the programme schedule changed so frequently and still changing even until the night before the real thing.

In addition, having to edit the programme book cover from time to time according to the teacher’s demand was sure time consuming. If I were really some irresponsible person, I could have just spend the time enjoying myself and spend time with my family as much as others would, and just dump every responsibility on my other MC partner. Not that I’m complaining, it was surely my pleasure to contribute what I can, but I just can’t help to feel bad that I have, after all the work and time, being seen by one as the ‘last minute person’ who turns up only on the last rehearsal and conveniently reading some script that was written by somebody else.

I did feel guilty for not being able to be in Kuching for the preparation and all, not until the very last day. But I didn’t have a choice as it was totally out of expectation that we would go back to KL at that time. As a matter of fact, I even remembered assuring the organising chairperson of this event that I have actually completed the script before I left for KL.

But whatever it was, I’m happy with how I performed on the actual night. At least I hope it would somehow cover up what mess and commotions and bad image of myself I left behind for my absence during the preparation part. Of course, much much thanks to Chung Sien, my other MC partner, who was terribly nice and patient and for doing all the stuffs that have to been done in Kuching like bringing the script to the teacher for checking, which resulted him getting bombed by the teacher a couple of times. =P

Thank you mate! T’was great having you as a partner. =)

I sure hope that I am wrong about this whole thing. And I do not hold any grudges against anyone in case you’re wondering. I’m just feeling what anyone would feel to be misjudge as such.

Yeap, that’s what I got for my PMR results. A bee for BM. Frankly, it was somehow a hit for me to know that all my friends around me got straight As and I got a BEE for Bee aiM. bm…bm..bm …bm…bm..BMW!!!
geez….i think I’m on my way to being a psycho.

Didn’t expect it to be BM. But then, lucky I got back my conscience. It’s only PMR what. No biggy eh? Besides, thinking about it, its quite true about what my mom said, if i did really got straight Ace that easily, I might not push myself for the SPM. So, let’s just say, I got a bee and it stung me, and is sorta like a motivator [not in a very pleasant way tho]. So, forget about it lah.

As for our school, those who got a string of Ace total up to 38 only. Not even half of the target. And it turned out that 48 of us didn’t get straight As because of BM. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one. There are 47 others who are the same fate as me. *phew* hehe…

48 ain’t a small number ya know…One of the possibilities is that our schools’ papers were sent to a centre with a very strict panel of BM examiner… =.= Not really intending to put the blame on them but who knows?

Quite a number of my friends are appealing for a remark. Most of them are encouraging me to appeal for it too. But i’m still quite undesicive about it. Should I go for the appeal? or should i just accept the fact..? what for? Is there really a need? after all, i got 7 what, not bad too mar…right?…hehe..But then again, no harm appealing eh? jeeeez……..

home sweet home~!!!

Yohooo!! My stinky pillow!! miss you so much!!

Woops, excuse me.

Just got back from the Kuching High Red Crescent Leadership Camp 2006.

4 days 3 nights. Yes, I survived.

ONE-HOUR opening ceremony speech *my goodness*, early morning emergency calls, rock hard cement floor which nearly froze me in the middle of the night, annoying whistles every morning which means I’ll have to drag my body up again, morning inspections which need us to arrange each single strand of string outside our luggage and put it back again, having to cramp into a tiny cubical toilet with Agnes with 2 pails of water, long lectures in air-con room that I’ll have to smack and pinch myself just to be awake, ooooh yes, I SURVIVED!!

I’m NOT gonna look at those classrooms and toilets the same way again!

Now do I sound like I’m just back from an army camp or some sort? *hehe* Well, I did enjoy though.

Luv y’all! Group 7 – Rational
[hey, wait, I was also in grp 7 for the Johor Camp..what a coincidence..]

Other activities:
1. Flag making – our group produced the dirtiest flag out of all 8 groups which even the word RATIONAL is hardly readable. XD Yet we still got 7 for the presentation.

2 . Marching practice - Was somehow a difficulty. Not used to the tones and commands practiced by other schools. Different chapters, different style. We ended up showing each other how’s each of our schools’ different practices. Not much of practice.

3. Quiz Bee – ERC & first aid questions. Got 7 marks for this too. [not bad huh..]

4. Friendship Night –

img_0235.jpg

Danced danced and danced. yep.

img_0304.jpg

A wonderful surprise birthday celebration for 6 of the participants. Aww..look at Liang Yuan and Pauline…Tears of joy!

5. Morning drill – Rather interesting. Conducted by Calvin Wong.

6. Relay Bandaging - Our group was SLOW. In addition to a few group members who didn’t have any idea about first aid. =.= Got 3 marks only.

7. Mobile kitchen – It was cool! [note: only the practical was fun. the lecture part?NO]
I got so hungry that when I got my portion of food, I got a realisation that rice is actually sweet. *hahaha*

img_0329.jpg

Hands-on cooking

cimg1301.jpg

Our beloved Pn. Lim & Sarah, the beauty, XD frying eggies for one of our meals

8. Team Match – Fun! Our group managed to pull through every task.

cimg1071.jpg

I crawl, I crawl, I crawl crawl crawl
~Soaking wet & soapy~

9. Treasure Hunt – Gosh, we got only 2 marks for this. Having to do 20 times of frog jumping to get the last 2 clues plus all the other painstakingly collected clues which needed to form a map that was totally useless.

cimg1130.jpg

One of the task – Make silly faces *blaah!* [spot me!]

10. Presentation on how to organise an activity – 9 marks for this! Yep. Excellent! Considering we had only half an hour to sort everything out. and being the Programme Officer was totally about being hair-wired. Luckily managed get it done quite satisfyingly.

11. Marching Demo – We all ended up marching according to our own chapters.

cimg1388.jpg

SMK Chung Hua Miri was not bad.

cimg1404.jpg

As for our school, though it wasn’t perfect, but considering Ee hui having the guts to accept being the commander just half an hour before, she was amazing! *cheers!*

img_0016.jpg

Beauty!

12. Talentine – We all did had a good laugh. Not to mention the ex-leaders fooling around at the back added a hell load of laughter into it. As for our group, it went well and we managed to drag to the 8th minute [not what we expected.]

cimg1475.jpg

T’was an improvisation of PCK comedy sketch which brings the message about being RATIONAL. got 7 marks. wohoo!

13. Obstacle course – The obstacles were set up by the scouts. Interesting. Lucky for us, the guys in our group were all splendid, they were all gentlemens offering tremendous help to us - the girls.
There were quite a few teary casualties. Thank God, our group were all still in one piece.

cimg1764.jpgcimg1691.jpg

Pix1 : Wee!                                        Pix2: *here!! pain ar!!*

img_0448.jpg

For the last activity, THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA…
For our group, our leader and his brilliant idea – the masking tape.
Needless to say, our group formed the longest line. *teehee*

And for the last meal, we all had KFC. Hilarious isn’t it? KFC for camp. *wahaha*

Too bad, I couldn’t make it to stay back till the end for the closing ceremony. Didn’t even got the chance to say goodbye to my group members…Aww…..*sniff..*

The design for the camp T-shrit and the camp programme book was a beauty. Simplistic and plain.

And oh, this is not to be missed out! Way to go, RATIONAL group!
