Our regional director, Watanabe Bucho came two days ago, along with Kevin Dojo Cho and Komatsu Doshi.
That night, the first question was : Why did you practise saying ‘Thank You Very Much’(TYVM) for 4,000 times a day? How did you manage to practise up to 5 million times? and When did you started this practice?
Rather than 3 brief answers for 3 questions, these questions led to the whole topic of the day. Bucho likes to talk. haha.
I’ll give you the summarised answer.
So, his inspiration came from Odairisama. And because he is the regional director of Asia Region which has 4,000 kumites, he made 4,000 the number of times he’s gonna say TYVM each day. In this way, he can practice gratitude to all 4,000 kumites in Asia Region.
He added, “I made the aim to achieve 5 million times of TYVM, with how I practised, I managed to achieve it. Now, I challenge myself a 2nd round of 5 million times.I’ve had set the date I shall reach my goal.”
*struck in awe* 5 million dude.
Awakenings: Bucho said he doesn’t get irritated easily, he learnt to stop blaming others, he don’t judge others, and his day is practically with no complain or dissatisfaction. More importantly, he doesn’t get angry.
*applause! applause!* Indeed, people like him are rare in this world.
In a nutshell : Be absolutely grateful for absolutely everything day and night!
Eventually, Bucho covered up all the 4 other questions. Whatever problem we encounter, just be sure to be grateful.
And yes, I must admit his words were strong. I started practising it the very next day. Easy 100 times to start with. Now don’t give me that look, I’m a youth. He’s BUCHO. XD
Apart from that, another person who carved this big “gratitude” word in my mind was Liu Zi Xian (don’t know the exact spelling) , a former NTV7 newsreader, now businessman as well as a lung cancer survivor.
He gave a motivational talk during the Leadership Camp organised for all SMKJK schools in Malaysia held in Johor. Superb, he is. He told us his life before and after cancer and how cancer led to his practice of gratitude towards everything.
Mind you, his main focus was also: Gratitude. =.=
Having going through chemotherapy, he realises how blessed, how lucky, how wonderful he is and life is. In other words, chemotherapy and cancer changed his life.
He’s truly amazing and I totally admire him for his awakenings. For if I were to go through what he went through, I would have died of grumbling rather than of the cancer.
So…God, I’ve got the message. =)
